Prof. M.K. Sridhar


Professor, Post Graduate Department of Management, Canara Bank School of Management Studies, Bangalore University. Recipient of 'Kempe Gowda Award' and 'General President's Gold Medal Award'


Prof. M.K. Sridhar is a professor of Management in the Post Graduate Department of Management, Canara Bank School of Management Studies (CBSMS), Bangalore University. Is post graduate in Commerce and obtained his M.Phil and Ph.D. in management.

Prof. Sridhar has headed several projects. Entrepreneurial Awareness Among Youth, Impact of Mass Media on Adolescent Youth, Study of Interaction between Technical Institutions and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMES) are some of the projects headed by him. He has worked as Project coordinator of a research project 'Human Resources in Call Centre Industry - An Exploration of Potential and Challenges.

Prof. Sridhar has guided several national and international research scholars pursuing M.Phil and Ph.D. studies. Prof. Sridhar has published good number of research papers at national and international conferences. He is also deeply involved in motivational training.

In recognition of his work the Government of Karnataka felicitated him with ‘Kempe Gowda Award’ in 2011 and The National Science Congress Association awarded General President’s Gold Medal in 2012 for his outstanding contribution to further the science and technology.

Prof. M.S. Thimmappa is a professor of clinical psychology and a former Registrar and Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University. Prof. Thimmappa taught Psychology for PG students for over thirty years, done research in the areas of Brain-Behavior(Body-Mind) relationship, Human Consciousness and Personal Growth. Guided several doctoral students and presented Papers in the National and International Conferences and published research Papers in Journals. He won several awards and distinctions including a Gold Medal at NIMHANS and H.N.Murthy Oration Award.

Prof. Sundar Sarukkai
Director, Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities,

Doctrate in Theoretical Particle Physics. Authored several books published papers in international research journals including Leonardo & Journal of Economic Surveys



Prof. Sundar Sarukkai is a professor of philosophy and Director of Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities at Manipal University. Obtained his doctorate in Theoretical Particle Physics from Purdue University, USA. Started career as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Physics in Purdue University and later joined National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. Prof. Sarukkai served as the Head of the Centre for Philosophy at NIAS before joining Manipal University. Prof. Sarukkai has received several national and international Fellowships for his academic excellence. He has authored several books, has presented research papers in international conferences and is editor of numerous national and international research journals.

Prof. S. Sadagopan

Taught in IIT, Kanpur and IIMB, Bangalore and in several world-class universities including MIT and Stanford. Fulbright Scholar and is listed in Marquis’s Who's Who in the World since 1997.


Professor Sadagopan is the founder Director of the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, a new generation institute promoted jointly by the Government of Karnataka & IT industry, in 1999. Professor Sadagopan had been teaching at two premier educational institutes in India, namely, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, (IITK) during 1980 - 1995 and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, (IIMB) during 1995-1999. Professor Sadagopan got his Ph.D. from Purdue University, USA. He has taught in several world-class universities-including MIT and Stanford. He has developed and taught courses on MIS, Database, Decision Support, Operations Research, ERP, Enterprise Systems, Networking, Software Architecture and E Commerce. Professor Sadagopan has authored two textbooks – and several articles for academic journals and news papers. He is a well known consultant in the areas of Computing, Communications, Software, Automotive, Oil and Power industries as well as social sector. He is a member of the Board of Directors of several private and public sector corporation. He is also a member of the Board of Studies of several Universities. He was a Fulbright Scholar and his name is listed in Marquis’s Who's Who in the World since 1997.

Prof. Padma Sarangapani

Prof. Padma Sarangapani is a professor of Education at Centre for Studies in Sociology of Education, School of Social Science, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Prof. Sarangapani has pioneered several research projects in the areas of school and teacher education. She has authored several research articles and books. Prof. Sarangapani worked as a professor of education in National Institute of Advanced Studies prior to joining TISS.

Dr. Gururaj Karajagi

Dr. Karajagi is a 'Life Fellow' of the Electrochemical Society of India and has published over 22 research papers in International journals.



Dr. Gururaj Karajagi is a committed educationist who has spent more than three decades teaching and establishing outstanding institutions that reflect the highest principles of educational philosophy and human values. Dr. Karajagi, a doctoral degree holder from Karnataka University, has published over 22 research papers in International journals. He has served as a member of several prestigious private and Government educational committees. He is a 'Life Fellow' of the Electrochemical Society of India. He is also a serving member of the State Resource Group (SRG) for the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) and NAAC accreditation in the colleges of Karnataka. Dr. Karajagi was the Principal of V. V .S. First Grade College for Women, Bangalore, for 16 years. He served as the founder Principal and Academic Director of the Jain International Residential School, Bangalore, and was also the founder Director of the International Academy for Creative Teaching, Bangalore. Dr Karajagi is a well-known columnist who writes for a popular daily and has completed more than 800 columns. His three books entitled “Karunaalu Baa Belake” are immensely popular and have seen several editions. He has published over hundred articles on all aspects of education in National and International journals. He is also known for his daily spiritual discourses on a bilingual T.V. channel – Sri. Sankara. A well-read scholar, he has authored many stories, articles and textbooks in English and Kannada. His areas of interest include Creativity, Creative & Critical Problem Solving Skills, Communication skills, Motivation, Work ethics and Human Values.

Sri. Mohan Das Pai

Former Chief Financial Officer of Infosys and was voted ‘CFO of the Year’ and ‘Best CFO in India’. His keen interest in improving literacy, especially primary education led him to found Akshaya Patra Foundation.


Sri. Mohan Das Pai is the Chairman of Manipal Education and Medical Group. Graduated in Commerce from St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bangalore, and holds a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from Bangalore University. He is also a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Mohan Das Pai joined Infosys in 1994 and served as a Member of the Board from May 2000- July 2011. He was the Chief Financial Officer from 1994 to 2006. Subsequently he took lead in the areas of Human Resources and Education and Research. Sri. Mohan Das was voted ‘CFO of the Year’ in 2001 by IMA India. He won the ‘Best CFO in India’ award from Finance Asia in 2002, and ‘Best Chief Financial Officer in India’ in the Best Managed Companies by Asia Money in 2004. He has served as a Member on several finance related committees including Kelkar Committee, the Non-Resident Taxation Committee and the High Powered Committee on e-Commerce and Taxation. Dr. Mohandas Pai is also a Trustee of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation, the body that oversees the International Accounting Standards Board. His keen interest in improving literacy, especially primary education led him to found Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is much appreciated for its mid-day meal programme for school children.

Dr. Ravi Narayan

Dr. Ravi Narayan is a public health professional and health activist who currently works as an honorary Community Health Adviser at Centre for Public Health and Equity, SOCHARA. His main interest include the community paradigm in health and the evolution of health as a social movement. He is one of the original co-initiators of Community Health Cell (CHC). Dr. Ravi Narayan is an active member of the People’s Health Movement Network. He was the joint convener of the Jan Swasthya Abhiyan till December 2002 and later coordinator of the Global Secretariat of People’s Health Movement from January 2003 to July 2006. Currently he is a member of WHO Advocacy Circle of PHM and also part of the PHM Steering Council and Coordinating Council. He is also associated with the Global Health Watch and a faculty of the International People’s Health University. He is a Council member of the Global Forum for Health Research and founding Governing Body member of the Public Health Foundation of India. He is a member of the Task Force on Primary Health Care of the Planning Commission of India and is also closely associated with two major initiatives of the Central Ministry of Health, the National Rural Health Mission and the AYUSH and Public Health Initiative. He is also a member of the International Advisory Committee and the Speciality Advisor on Public Health of the British Medical Journal.

Smt. Sita Lakshmi Chinnappa

Responsible for organizing the Biomedical Information Centre under the joint sponsorship of National Informatics Centre and Indian Council of Medical Research



Smt. Sita Lakshmi Chinnappa is responsible for organizing the Biomedical Information Centre under the joint sponsorship of National Informatics Centre and Indian Council of Medical Research. She had involved in setting up of Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval Systems (MEDLARS) which is one of the world’s largest medical information systems. Her contribution in creating database of publications in areas such as nutrition, virology and alike using software package has been much appreciated. She was also involved in preparing input protocols to international standards using Common Communication Format of UNESCO and ISO. She is now deeply involved in promoting library activities.

Prof. K.R.S. Murthy

Chairman of the Board of Governors of Institute of Social and Economic Change (ISEC). Former - Vice-Chairman of the Indian Council for Technical Education, Member of Disinvestment Commission, and Chairman of the Board of Information Technology Education Standards of Karnataka.

Prof. K. R. S. Murthy headed the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore as the Director. Currently he is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Institute of Social and Economic Change (ISEC). Prof. Murthy holds a Master's degree from Sloan School of Management, MIT and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. He was Vice-Chairman of the Indian Council for Technical Education, Member of Disinvestment Commission, and Chairman of the Board of Information Technology Education Standards of Karnataka. He has served as member of Board of Governing Councils of several institutions and published extensively. Prof. Murthy has shared his management perspectives at several national and international conferences.

Dr. S. R. Ramaswamy
Eminent Kannada Writer

Recipient of Karnataka State Sahitya Academy Award, Aryabhatta Award. His works include an acclaimed full length biography of Subhash Chandra Bose titled “Kolminchu”



Dr. S.R. Ramaswamy has been active in literature and journalism for over five decades. He has for nearly three decades guided some major voluntary rural development initiatives in Karnataka. He has been a staunch advocate of the Swadeshi Movement. He was for over thirty years active in environmental campaigns. Having studied up to Intermediate (National College, 1953-54), he entered the field of journalism. He has authored about 55 books in Kannada and English besides thousands of articles on Developmental and Nationalist themes. His works include an acclaimed full length biography of Subhash Chandra Bose titled “Kolminchu” and a dozen other biographies. His contribution in the area of developmental economics includes ‘Shatamanada Tiruvinalli Bharata’ (1989), ‘Arthikateya Eradu Dhruva’ (1994) and ‘Nagarikategala Sangharsha’ (2000). He is the recipient of Karnataka State Sahitya Academy Award (1992) for year’s best work in social science; Aryabhata Award (2006) for journalism; Karnataka Rajyotsava Award (2008) for literature; Mythic Society Centenary Award (2009) for scholastic achievements, and Karnataka Madhyama Academy ‘person of the year’ Award (2011) for five decades long distinguished contribution to journalism. In March 2011 the Karnataka State Open University conferred on him its doctorate (D.Litt.) honoris causa for life-time contribution to literature and journalism.

Dr. Mukund Kadursrinivas Rao

Dr. Mukunda Rao is an International Consultant in EO, GIS and Space. He was an adjunct Faculty at National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. And also served in Indian Space Research Organisation at the Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad in 1981 and later moved to ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore in 1994 where he held different positions and worked till 2005. Since 2005, he has led business initiatives in EO/GIS in India as CEO/President and presently he is an independent International Consultant in EO/GIS/Space and guides/steers EO/GIS activities of various national, international business groups and companies. He has been honoured with several prestigious national and international awards. Some of which are- GIS Professional of 2009 Award at the Map India, 2010 Conference; Exemplary Service Medal from International Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI), Association in 2009, Hari Om Ashram's Vikram Sarabhai Young Scientist Award in the area of "Systems Analysis and Management" in 2002.
